Power & Grace students often perform locally and nationally at venues such as the Red River Revel, December on the Red, and Disney World in Orlando. Annual Spring Recitals and productions, such as “The Lion King” in 2008 and “Aladdin” in June 2010, are held in the historic Strand Theatre providing opportunities for young students to showcase their talents and build self-confidence.
Power & Grace is the resident studio of River Cities Dance Company, a talented group of young dancers ranging from the intermediate to the advanced and pre-professional levels. These students have the unique opportunity to develop their skills under the direction of professional dancers and choreographers from throughout the world of dance, including Luis Fuente, Margo Sappington, Mia Michaels, Thommie & Becca Rhetter, Wade Robson, Chris Judd, Mary Beth Arrington, Shane Sparks, Brooke Paulsen, Reagan Marie,
Dave Scott, Tyce Diorio, Gina Badone, Alexei & Natalia Charov, Keith Cross, Heroshi Hamanihi, and Diane Maroney Grigsby.
River Cities Dance Company attends dance competitions and conventions annually, including Dupree Dance Expo in Dallas and New Orleans, Dance Olympus in New Orleans, Fire and Ice in Dallas, and the local “Gator Classic.” They consistently bring home top awards from all competitions, including Finalists in the Tremaine National Dance Competition. Members have been accepted to prestigious national dance programs such as The Rock School, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, The Rockettes Intensive Training Program, and City Ballet of Houston. Graduating seniors have been accepted and/or received scholarships to several college dance programs including Louisiana State University, University of Oklahoma, University of Alabama, Centenary College, and Southern Methodist University.
